October 9 2024

Finally its starting to look and feel like fall on the rivers. This early falls hot dry weather didn’t do us any favors as far as producing great fishing. Warmer water temps made the king bite rather moody, though we did still catch our share and even had a few great days, but overall the bite was tough….plenty of fish in the PM but they had a severe case of lock jaw most days with a short bite window each morning.

Now that were looking at mid- October, we are switching gears towards fall steelhead. All signs on the big lake this summer pointed to a much better run of fish this year. We saw good numbers out there, now its just a matter of getting some wet weather to get the rivers up to near normal flows and send those early fall fish into the river systems. All the rivers in west Michigan are lacking water, I think its only rained once or twice now in almost 2 months., the Muskegon is lower than Ive ever seen in at this time of year, might be time to dust off the driftboat. I feel that once we get so

We do still have a handfull of days open if your looking at getting on the water. Please feel free to reach out call or text us @ 231-250-9745.
