The fishing has been great on the lake for the last few weeks.

There seems to be fish everywhere, up and down the coast. Its been a mix of spoons and meat rigs for the most part. Spoons in brighter hotter colors in the top 50′ and meat rigs fished lower. With the water temps cold top to bottom the fish are spread out.

Its time to get those trips booked for the summer…all signs point to a much better summer than last year. Lets fish!!

The new and improved Hattrick is in the water and is ready to fish. I have upgraded my boat this season to a 31′ Tiara. The fishing the last few weeks in Ludington has been great, with good catches of Kings, a few browns and a few steelhead. Now is the time to get your summer trips booked.

Well its official, the “Hattrick” has been upgraded…I started a very long and winding journey mid winter,looking for a new boat for my charter business…after a few long stressfull months filled with boat shopping and such, my new boat arrived in Ludington this week. Its a 31′ Tiara open. The boat should be in the water this weekend and few days of fine tuning and loading all the tackle on board it will be ready to fish this coming week…Its going to be a great summer on the lake.

The fishing is going very well up and down the lake with mixed catches of Salmon and trout coming in…its time to get those trips on the books.

Yes its still winter, but now is the time to get things booked for this coming summer. July and August dates go fast,so its never to early to get your favored dates lined up.

Im looking forward to spring in the worst way this year, this winter has been brutal to say the least. Very long, very cold, very boring. Ths is usually my favorite time to fish the rivers for winter Steelhead, but even that has been tough to do with the weather we have had.

So…I have been spending more time thinking about spring and summer fishing on the big water.

2013 provided us with some of the bigest fish we have seen in some time….lets all hope we see some of those bruisers this coming season.
