We have been very busy the last ten days or so…..We still have openings, don’t hesitate to call.
the fishing early last week was great….big kings and there seemed to be plenty of them…by weeks end and over the weekend they moved and we could not find them.
The best king bite was at first and last light on the bank and inside 100′ fow.
Offshore fishing for steelhead, lake trout and a few salmon was my best fishing.
hot rigs…
various copper lines from 50′-300′ spoons up high, meat rigs down deep.
downriggers early and divers were hot at times and ice cold others.
Hot spoons were silver streak minis in mixed veggies, double Dutch, jerry lee and orange chilly willy, Yeck fire ball, stinger goldie locks, double orange crush.
Meat rigs…all over the board, show time,Kevin’s girlfriend, life’s good spin doctors all baited with the familiar bite herring. The best meat bite was early and late.
Todays big blow from the north should mix things up.
We have openings this weekend !
The fishing over the last few days has been hit or miss for this time of year. Fish are being caught on all of our charters.
The fish have been scattered due to the ever changing wind directions, one day it blows from the north, then several days of good winds from the south. The fishing starts to stabilize….then it blows from the north and scatters the fish again. There are a few areas that the fish are concentrated, but those spots change almost daily.
Hot spoons
Silver stream mini’s in- mongoose,Jerry Lee,double dutch and carmel dolphin
Stinger goldielocks. double orange crush
Meat rigs- showtime with cold steel, blue and yellow sparkler with UV teaser rigs,
Black flashers with green flies
Give us a call and lock in a day on the lake!
If you are looking for a Saturday morning charter, the only Saturday AM charter I have left is August 2. I do still have a few Sunday am charters available. Weekday openings are also available.
The Tournament is over and info will flow a little more freely in Ludington.
Over the weekend the best “charter” fishing was offshore…A mixed bag of Kings, Coho’s, Steelhead and Lake Trout. The key was to fish the temp breaks…either the edge of the cold and warm, or try to stay in the cold.
Flat lines and short coppers were best with silver streak mini streaks in orang crush, Jerry Lee, mixed veggie and chilli goose. Stinger goldie locks were also hot.
Meat rigs with white flashers and Ok’i Kingfisher flashers in the black mamba with cold steel or red teasers and red bait heads were good deeper for kings. I only run the Familiar Bite herring strips. They are the best on the market.
