Ludington Sport fishing Charters

The wild ride of 2020 on the lake is over, looking forward to 2021 already!!!

Our season on the big lake ended just after labor day 2020, it was a crazy start to the year and a finish that lacked those high levels of excitement. Fishing was ok to good most days, with a few slow days mixed in. I’m looking for a much improved 2021, plant numbers have been on the rise, and we should see an increase in the salmon in 2021.

I want to thank everyone that supported us this past season, without your business, we could not survive. Thanks also to those than called to inquire about a trip, I’m sorry that we could not make room in our schedule and hope to hear from you again next summer.

    Thanks again!!!!

Summer is in full mode in Ludington,

The fishing has been interesting to say the least in Ludington, we are still catching good numbers of lake trout with the occasional steelhead and king salmon mixing in. There are kings getting caught daily, just not in huge numbers, therefore we have been mixing up our presentations to best target multi species of fish.

Best trout rigs are flashers on the bottom with spin and glows and dodgers with spin and glows.

King baits….plugs, flashers and flies, mag spoons. My best flasher fly rigs have been white blades with green flies. Moonshine spoons seem to be the best in my boat.

I’m hoping that when the numbers show up its in huge numbers and the fishing really takes off.

Give us a call we still have openings for the season.

    June has arrived…..

The month of June is pretty much a mixed bag option, Lake trout are currently filling in for the King salmon we had here last month…though a few salmon and steelhead are being caught daily. The kings will be big this summer when they return in numbers.

Fishing near the bottom with flasher and dodgers with spin n glos will do the damage on the lake trout. Flashers with meat rigs and flies will be the best option for salmon. Try orange spoons up higher for steelhead.

Plenty of openings, if you are looking to get on the water give us a call.
