Lake Michigan Fishing Report – Ludington
June is coming to a close, and we’re heading into what many anglers consider the prime months of the Lake Michigan season in Ludington. Salmon numbers will continue to build throughout July and August, and offshore fishing for steelhead and coho should really start to heat up. The best stretch of the big-water season is here.
Early mornings are typically the most productive for king salmon, with coho and steelhead becoming more active as the sun climbs higher. Glow spoons have been producing well during the low-light hours, and we’re transitioning into prime flasher-and-fly season. It’s also time to start running meat rigs and plugs as mature kings become more aggressive.
If you’ve been thinking about getting out on the lake, now is the time to reserve your trip. Our calendar is filling quickly, and the next eight weeks are shaping up to be one of our busiest stretches of the season. If you have any questions or would like to check availability, don’t hesitate to reach out. We look forward to getting you on the water for some incredible Lake Michigan salmon fishing.
